MOUNTAIN biking

It doesn’t stop with great road and gravel riding out our front door, we’ve got 5 miles of sweet pro-built singletrack out our back door. The Hub is where it all begins. The trailhead to the Brant Lake Bike Park – our personal stash made free for you– starts from our parking lot. Let’s just say, there’s a reason our premier trail is called “Stairway to Heaven.” You just have to work to get to it, but don’t take our word for it, please confirm for yourself.

CURRENT TRAIL CONDITIONS:

7/11: Good to go. Recent rain should make hero dirt for the weekend!

Brant lake bike park

Brant Lake Bike Park is a professionally built singletrack trail system designed specifically for mountain biking. The trails cover 5 miles over 200 acres, resulting in up to a 10 mile riding experience. The climb is the only one of its kind in the area and puts the "mountain" in "mountain biking". The crown jewel of the ride is the unobstructed view of Brant Lake, which is also accessible by a separate hiking trail. This is a professionally built, privately owned, but free and open to the public singletrack trail system. It features a 1.3-mile climb, an unobstructed view of the entirety of Brant Lake, and a variety of trail surfaces.

brant lake bike park history

When The Hub was born in 2014, it catered almost exclusively to road cyclists due to a lack of area mountain bike trails. However, a literal mountain of single track potential (200+ acres) was in our backyard. When that property came up for sale in 2016, the endless dreaming of what could be transitioned into the work of making it happen.

The land is incredibly beautiful, diverse and includes the summit of Bartonville Mountain (with a great view of Brant Lake), but it was obvious that professional trail development was a must. And if the trails were to be free and open to the public, we had to figure out how to fund pro diggers, specifically the local team of WPM Trails.

Bottom line, our Founding Partners at Rick’s Bike Shop, Common Roots Brewing Company, Fountain Square Outfitters, Trampoline Design, and North Country Subaru made it happen. That, and the generous addition of private donations via two Kickstarter campaigns and uncountable hours of volunteer labor.

Know that when you do business with these Founding Partner sponsors,  you’re doing business with companies that directly fund mountain bike trail development. When you see someone rocking “Founding Member” BLBP schwag, give them a high five. They are the folks that made your Brant Lake Bike Park a reality!
